Your Teacher:

David Lambert, MA Cantab. Dip. App Ling.

I have a post-grad degree in French from Cambridge University. A former translator with the BBC and UNESCO, I’m a trained simultaneous interpreter and a fluent user of French with 30+ years of language teaching experience and linguistic research. I’ve taught various subjects at Lycée Perrier (Marseille), Université de Lille, Cambridge Regional College, The Open University, Cambridge Arts and Sciences (CATS), Hills Road Sixth Form College, and Anglia Ruskin University. This will be our 18th year of welcoming students to residential courses at our house in France, and now we'’ve moved to online Zoom classes as well. I really look forward to helping you access all the French you didn’t know you knew – and building on it so you actually enjoy using it!

Testimonials

I found David to be a born teacher, always well prepared, passionate about the language he is teaching, and very focused on his students’ actual needs and aptitudes. I could not recommend a more pleasurable and stimulating way to learn French –– in my case from a 90% forgotten A level. I feel honoured to have found this rather exceptional teacher. C. Amory, UK

The class is great fun and we’re not only improving our language skills but also learning a great deal about French culture and current affairs. S. Leach, UK

I have been studying French on Zoom with David for almost a year, and can thoroughly recommend him.  His approach is lively and interesting, so it’s enjoyable to learn French in our group class. Dieter Benziger, UK

A great add-on to the conversation class is ‘Grammar Gym’ which is really helpful for me. It’s basically rehearsal time for all the main structures of French, especially verb tenses, and important phrases and their uses. And learning with David is always about ideas and concepts so it’s really enjoyable!

M. Taylor, UK.
